Deceased. Marlene was married to Jesse Holbrook and they lived in Sturtevant, WI
Her and her husband and owned American Locksmith. Marlene managed the office.
Marlene loved crafts, reading and vacationing at their log cabin in the Smoky mountains.

Deceased. John passed away on September 6, 2000 in Marietta Georgia from colon cancer at 47 years old. John went to UW Stevens Point. John was married and had two wonderful kids. He had moved to Georgia in the mid 90’s and worked for a General Motors subsidiary in the warehouse.

Deceased. John passed away from an illness on March 17, 2016 at the age of 63 years at his home in Phoenix, AZ in the loving care of his wife Karen. John was born on February 19, 1953 in Racine. John attended Ripon College where he studied history and philosophy, and devoted his career to the High Tech recruitment field. He married Karen I. on July 26, 1990 in Indianapolis, IN. John was an avid sports car enthusiast and greatly enjoyed music, tennis and sailing.

He leaves behind his wife Karen of nearly 26 years; his daughters Jennifer J. Keim (George) and Georgeanne K. Barrett (Robert); and son, Jonathan R. Kemp (Karina); as well as granddaughters Lucy, Kylie and Peyton. John also is survived by his father John P. “Jack” Barrett; and sisters Kay Barrett and Suzanne B. Gilpin; as well as other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Brown, Randall Deceased September 16, 2011 at 58 years old after a short illness. Randy lived in Racine, WI and played in a band as a trumpet player for "Fun Factory". He acted in several theatre productions. Randy was a Transportation Coordinator for many years. He had one daughter Laura A. Brown and one son Kevin R. Brown. Randy expressed his creativity through music, acting and gardening. He was passionate about nature, whether it was watching flocks of birds at his many feeders, sitting in the great outdoors fishing and hunting, or just listening and feeling the beauty that surrounded him.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Laura A. Brown of Missouri; son, Kevin R. Brown of Racine; granddaughters, Lauren and Olyvia; sisters, Rebecca (Gary Reinoehl) Brown of California and Kay (Robert) Rosenbaum of Indiana; and brother, Rex (Lori) Brown of Illinois.

Chadek- Grube, Debbie Deceased. Debra Chadek Grube, age 59, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, in Barrington. Debbie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Debbie was employed for 20 years in commercial printing sales. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, golfing, and was very fond of nature and animals. Elk Grove Village, IL

Debbie is survived by her sisters, Judith (Daniel) Kuiper of Eagle River, WI, Sharon (Steven) Gouris of Gurnee, IL; and her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Djuricic - Montgomery, Millie Deceased. Millie passed away November 4, 2014 at the age of 62 years. Millie was born in Racine, July 18, 1953, daughter of the late Vladimir and Ida (Nee: Stotera) Djuricic. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 2 sisters Ingrid Celmer and Angie DeMoulpied. Millie was a strong and independent mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Millie wish was to be cremated and return to the beauty of the earth.

Dykstra, Kim Deceased. Kim, age 59, died on March 3, 2012 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Dykstra was born in Racine, Wisconsin on December 9, 1952 to Reinhart and Carrol (Husman) Dykstra. He graduated from Indiana University, Fort Wayne campus, in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in business. In 1985, he graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne with a Masters of Divinity. Kim served as Pastor in Godrich, Ontario, Canada; London, Ontario, Canada; and Sturtevant, Wisconsin. He was also drove truck over-the- road for Schneider National Trucking for 15 years. He married Cathy Lee Fisher on August 9, 1975 and was a member of the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by son, Andy Dykstra, in 2001. Kim will be dearly missed by all who know and love him. We know that he is with his Lord and Savior in Heaven. Survivors include: His wife of 36 years, Cathy Dykstra of Fort Wayne; son, Benjamin and Lisa Dykstra of Avilla; daughter, Katie and Matt Spinks of Fort Wayne; Grandson, Samuel Spinks and granddaughter, Rainbow Spinks; mother and father, Reinhart and Carrol Dykstra of Sturtevant, Wisconsin; sister, Sally Dykstra of Sturtevant, WI. He was preceded in death by son, Andy Dykstra, in 2001.
Dykstra, Tricia

Deceased. Tricia Ann (nee. Dykstra) Schmidt of Wind Lake, WI passed away peacefully on July 14, 2017 at 64 years old at her residence. Tricia was born in Racine, Wisconsin on March 8, 1953, the daughter of John and Evelyn (nee. Petersen) Dykstra. In her early life, Tricia enjoyed spending summertime with her family on Browns Lake, and Waubeesee Lake. She was a UW graduate of Whitewater with a degree in Education. Tricia was a passionate teacher for 42 years, most recently working with special needs children at Waterford Evergreen School. On April 13, 2004 in Barbados she married Dean John Schmidt. The couple had lived on Waubeesee Lake the past few years. Per Tricia Ann’s wishes no services will be held. A Private memorial party will be held.

Tricia is survived by her husband Dean, children: Damon Dean Schmidt, Megan (Adam) Blevins, Ryan (Kristen) Dembroski and Matthew (Heather) Dembrowski; her father: John “Don” Dykstra, grandchildren: William, Gunnar, Peyton and Colton Blevins, Silvana Schmidt, and Elaine Dembroski; sisters and brothers: Donna (Frank) Manfredi, Jamie (Phil) Hueja, Marcy (Kyle) Groter, John (Julie) Dykstra, Don (Margie) Dykstra and Ann (Patrick) Kerkhoff; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Erdmann-Willms-Eldridge, Susan

Deceased. Susan passed away on February 27, 2017 of MS. Susan was married to Larry Eldridge for 20 years. She has 3 children, 2 step-children and 5 grandchildren and all of them live in the Columbus, OH. Susan loved working for The Ohio State University in the Dept. of Athletics as HR Manager until 2006. At that time she went on disability retirement due to MS. Susan said "MS is a very mean disease and has impacted every aspect of my life. I try to keep pressing on as well as I can. I do a lot of reading, messing around on the computer and spending time with my kids and grandkids". Susan was an 'adopted' Ohio State Buckeye (unless they played Wisconsin) and attended all the football games as staff alumni.

Fenkl, Robert Deceased on September 6, 2011 unexpectedly at 58 years old. Bob was born in Ansbach, Germany and came to Racine in 1955. He married Sharon Christensen, in Las Vegas, NV, on Sept 1, 1995. Bob was a partsman for Lakeside International for seventeen years. Bob loved music and playing oldies on his guitar. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He was a member of Deutshcer Manner Verein (German Club) and a former member of the Harbor Lite Yacht Club in Racine. Robert is survived by his loving wife Sharon of Racine; children, Laura Shockley of Milwaukee, Lisa (Dave) Higgins of Racine, David Bjorkman of Eugene, Oregon; grandson, Brandon Higgins; parents, Louie and Katharina Fenkl; brothers, Dieter (Roberta) Fenkl of Racine, Eric (Stan) Fenkl of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ronald (Cari) Fenkl of Racine.
Francis, Frank Deceased. Frank passed away from a car accident in June 1971 at 18 years old.  
Gage, Gary T.

Deceased. Gary passed away on January 10, 2015 at the age of 61 years in a fatal traffic accident. Gary was a Deputy Sheriff. a well-respected member of the Racine County Sheriff’s Department for 23 years. He retired in 2012. Gary was married to Gloria, a professional cook. They lived in Burlington, WI. Gary’s passions were guns, aviation, travel, astronomy and the outdoors. Gary was a lifetime member of the EAA, NRA and the Audubon Society. Gary loved nothing more than a good meal, a good whiskey, and good company. He was known to always have a good story to tell, and was a good friend to all that knew him. Memorial donations to the Audubon Society or NRA-ILA have been suggested in his honor.

Gary is survived by his parents, Bud (Gloria) Gage of Racine, and Gretchen Gage of Las Vegas; daughter Jennifer Gage in Minnesota; his best friend and companion Gloria Gage of Burlington; brothers and sister, Tobin (Vickie Schommer) Gage of McHenry, Illinois, Timothy Gage and Lisa (Dennis) Stewart both of Racine. He will also be missed by Gloria’s children, Robert Brook of Racine, and Charlene Mayorga of Burlington; and six grand- children; his nieces Julie Hadlock, Sarah Deleeuw, Nicole Raffini, and Katie Raffini; his nephews Todd Gage, Eric Gage, and Sam Stewart.
Gordon-McFarland, Susan Deceased. Susan passed away on August 20, 2009 at 55 years old of breast cancer. Susan was a well-studied pianist, a pilot, an excellent second-mate, and an entrepreneur. She loved golfing, traveling, gardening and giving. Her smile was contagious and her love was as big as life. Sue is survived by her husband Jamie McFarland and their children, Jerrod and Lisa and her six grand children Aaron LeGath, Sam, Maddy and Chase McFarland, Eleanor and Sully Brieske.
Grapentine-Nelson, Shawn Deceased. Shawn passed away on July 12, 2015 at the age of 62 years from brain cancer. Shawn was a passionate mother, wife and artist. She could create any knitting design that amazed everyone who knew her. Shawn's profession was in Real Estate. Shawn is survived by her husband Jim Nelson and her daughter Delaney in Fox Lake, Illinois.

Hanson, Steve

Deceased. Steven passed away at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on December 9, 2016. He was born on February 20, 1953 in Racine, WI to Edward “Bucky” and Nancy (nee: Sorenson) Hanson. Steve was a class of 1971 graduate of J.I. Case High School and in 1975 received his BA in Art Education from UW-Stout. After graduating from UW-Stout, Steve was a teacher for two years at the Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico where he was head of the Art Department and coached tennis. For the past 35 years, Steve was employed as a flight attendant with American Airlines until retiring in April of 2016. His most recent assignment was on international flights from Miami to Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is survived by a family that loved him dearly, including his father Edward (Bucky) of Edina, MN, his four brothers, Dr. David (Shari) of Libertyville, IL, Rev. Dana (Nancy) of Winnetka, CA, Jon of Milwaukee, and Andy (Peggy) of Minnetonka, MN, by nephews Rob, David, Greg, and Luke Hanson, nieces; Kristina Herman, Laura, Elizabeth, and Emma Hanson, as well as, by two lifelong friends Johnny Holstein and Rob Stocks of Washington, DC. Steve was preceded in death by his loving mother Nancy (Sorenson) Hanson in June of 2015. A memorial service will be held in Racine for Steve at a later date. Memorials to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Deceased. Roberta "Bertie" passed away on October 3, 2011 at age 58 years. She was born in Racine on October 20, 1952 to Lona D. and Robert J. Holub Sr. Roberta married Robert "Rick"Rosploch and they lived in Caledonia, Wisconsin. Roberta had 2 children, Rick and Cindy. She cherished her family. Roberta was a Catholic and attended St Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, Wisconsin.

Loving mother of Ricky (Sandy) and Cindy (Danny) Kannegiesser. Dear grandma of Kodi, Jonathin, Robert and Daniel Jr. Loving daughter of Bob and Lona Holub. Sister of the late Helen (John) Lahn, Bobby (Becky) Holub, Diane, Donny, Joey, Janet, Jim, Julie (Roy) Edwards, and Jerry. Sister-in-law of Nancy (Bill) Bauman and the late James. Also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Honor, Henry Deceased. Deacon Henry 'James' Honor 55, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Nov 3, 2008. James He was employed by Twin Disc and Danfoss. With a profound Christian faith, James was a passionate Gospel enthusiast since 1966. Deacon James was an accomplished singer, lead & bass guitarist, songwriter, producer, teacher and recording artist. He proudly authored a piece known by many, 'Going On The Other Side', which totally surpassed his expectations. Deacon James was the founder of Simply Amazing Gospel Productions and TAM Gospel Productions. He was involved in promoting some of the best in Gospel including: The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Shirley Caesar, Lee Williams and Rev. Milton Brunson & The Thompson Community Singers, just to name a few. In the early 80's, Deacon James had the opportunity to go professionally with Archie Dale & The Tones of Joy. However, as a truly devoted father, he turned it down as his three daughters were still young. Deacon James was an active member of Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church where he had been the Superintendent of Sunday School and led many Bible study classes.

Hughes, Richard Deceased. Richard passed away in approximately 1990 at approx 37 years old from complications of HIV.

Inloes, Christopher Deceased. Chris Inloes, 67, of Racine, WI passed away on August 29, 2020 from Covid in a nursing home.
He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on December 18, 1952. Chris worked as a graphic designer for EMI Design. He would later marry Jenny.
Chris was a pillar in the Racine music scene. While at Case High School he was a member of The Lines End where they recorded his original song “Miss Illusion”. He went on to play in a trio at Parkside and later in the Root River Band with his son, Michael, on drums. Chris was in the house band Softouch at The Holiday Inn for many years. He participated in music at Christ Church of Racin and United Methodist Church. Most recently, Chris was a leading member of The Sentinels, finishing his last public show in September of 2019.
Chris is known for his love of The Beatles and music from the 60s & 70s. Chris loved boating, fishing, collecting "Beatle-era", guitars/amps and memorobilia. He will always be remembered as a great friend, a gentle soul and an amazing father.

 

He is survived by his two children, Michael and Elizabeth Inloes, his siblings Brenda, Brian (Angela), and David (Cort), and his nieces and nephew Emma (Tyler) DeBehnke, John, and Mary.

"TeadyBoy" enjoyed Fishing, Singing and playing the keyboard and trumpet and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of The Pamp's Band, High Stakes and the Love Expression Band in the 70s & 80s. Krueger-McPhillip, Pamela Deceased. Pamela passed away on August 3, 2015 at 62 years old at her home in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Pam was born on July 5, 1953 in Racine, WI the daughter of Wallace and Patricia (Lyons) Kruger. Pam married to John “Jack” McPhillips on August 17, 1973. After raising their family the couple moved to Eagle River in 2007. Pam enjoyed spending time at Clear Lake as well as gardening. Pam is survived by her daughter Schaun (Tom) Benish of Racine, mother Patricia Kruger of Racine,sister Karen (Chris) Olson of Racine, brothers Steve (Virginia) Kruger of Racine and Eric (Michelle) Kruger of Cedarburg, WI, 3 grandsons, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Kuiper, Donna Deceased. Donna passes away on May 17, 2011 at 57 years old after a brief illness. Donna lived in Alto, MI area. Donna loved to sing.

Lucksted- Ricchio, Donna Deceased. Donna, 59, passed away at home on Dec 13, 2012. Donna was a master gardener, making her backyard bloom beautifully for everyone to enjoy. Donna enjoyed cooking and could make anything. She was an avid reader. Donna was an animal lover, especially cats. Donna cherished her family and treasured her sons, Tony and Sam. Donna is preceded in death by her former husband, Mark Ricchio, and good friend, Mary Ann Sanders. Donna is survived by her sons, Anthony and Sam Ricchio of Racine; brothers and sisters, Ted, Terry, Robert, Don, Linda, Sandy, Mary and her grandchildren.
Marema, Jerald Deceased. Jerry passed away on June 4, 1993 at 40 years old. A motor cycle hit him and he laid in a coma for a few weeks. His family regretfully pulled the plug.

Maresh-Bumpus, Donna

Deceased. Donna, 62, passed away onJuly 22, 2014 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on March 30, 1952, the daughter of Donald and Alice (nee: Nelson) Maresh. On June 23, 1973 Donna was united in marriage to Alan Bumpus. She received her Associate Degree from Gateway Technical College. She had a tremendous heart for the under privileged. Donna helped start the R.E.S.T. Program and served as the Executive Director from 1993–2004. She also helped start the Community Meal at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Donna was a Leadership Racine Graduate and received The 1999 Journal Times Award. She had been employed at Sam’s Club from 2005 to 2013 as a greeter. Surviving is her husband, Alan and their son, Christopher (Samantha) Bumpus; grandchildren, Adriana Bumpus and Brandon Bumpus, mother, Alice Maresh, sister, Dianne (Bill) Maresh-Kass and brother, Edward Maresh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Donna was preceded in death by her son, Casey Bumpus on June 17, 1993 and her father, Donald Maresh
McDowell, Roy Deceased. Passed away on June 20, 2011 from to Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) after suffering for several years at 58 years old. Roy was of Bowler, WI. He enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam. On December 27, 1975 he married Elizabeth Vetter. Roy worked as an owner/operator truck driver. Roy was also a Teamster & past commander of the Caledonia American Legion Post #494 & member of the Tilleda American Legion. Roy enjoyed working on model railroads & taking short trips with his wife & spending time with his family. Roy was a current member of the St. Jakobi Lutheran Church in the Town of Richmond. Roy was preceded in death by his son Shawn McDowell. Roy is survived by: his wife, Elizabeth; son, Robert (Jessica) McDowell of Shawano; 3 grandchildren, Sommer, Isaiah and Emmali McDowell; and 5 siblings, Mike (Faye) McDowell, Jim (Mary) McDowell, Janet McDowell, David (Jenice) McDowell and Donald (Brenda) McDowell all of TX.

Deceased. Robert John Muto, 58, passed away on March 06, 2012. Bob was born in Chicago, IL on August 31, 1953 but has been a Racine resident since childhood. On June 8, 1998 Bob married Karen M. Goessl. Bob was employed by Triple E until his retirement. Bob's number one passion in life was his music. He was classically trained in the piano and also played the keyboard in many bands over the years, including The Rockits; Free Wheelin; and most recently All the King's Men. Bob also loved flower gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Karen of Racine; his sons, Christopher Muto of Sturtevant, and Marcus (Samantha Harvey) Muto of Racine; his granddaughter, Cali Ann Muto of Racine; his mother Lisa Muto of Sturtevant; brother Frank (Kathy Lichtenwalner) Muto of Sturtevant.
Nelson, Eugene Deceased. Eugene "Gene" Nelson, “Gene”, 63, passed away September 16, 2016 at his home at 63 years old. Gene was employed by S. C. Johnson at Waxdale for 37 years and was a member of the S.C. Johnson 20 year club. Gene was an avid Packer fan and outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his mother, Jeanette Nelson; siblings, JoAnn, Mary (Ronald), Sue, Richard (Joyce), and Elaine; special friends, Rich and Dave; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and brothers-in-law, William and Ronald.
Nimmer, David Deceased. David W. Nimmer, 58, passed away on March 26, 2012 after a recent illness. He was born in Chicago on April 23, 1953. He also attended Ripon College, graduated from UW Parkside and worked on his Ph.D. at U.W. Milwaukee. He last worked for the City of Racine - Wastewater Department, however, prior to that he worked at Petrifying Springs in Kenosha for over 10 years. David excelled at Tennis in his younger years, playing in high school and college. He also taught tennis lessons after he played competitively. David was active with the Case "C" Club where he enjoyed many friendships. His survivors include his daughters, Aidan (Timothy) Kao of St. Paul, MN., Loran Nimmer of Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Rose Marie Nimmer of Racine; his father, Dr. Wilbur A. Nimmer, Sr. of Somers; his brothers, Alan Nimmer of Union Pier, MI, Wilbur A. Nimmer, Jr. of Somers; Pierre Nimmer of St. Martin Island, James Nimmer of Indianapolis, IN and his loving companion, Mary Fluegge and her children, Loren, Philip and Tyler of Racine. David was preceded in death by his brother, Steven W. Nimmer.
Pearson, Daniel Deceased. Rhythm-and-blues singer and composer Danny Pearson, who spent his childhood in Racine, died Friday, August 17, 2018 at age 65 at a Mississippi hospital after a three-year battle with liver cancer.
Best known for the 1978 Top 20 R&B single, “What’s Your Sign Girl?” Pearson is being remembered as a man who loved music and his family above all else. Danny Pearson was born on Jan. 6, 1953, in Stonewall, Miss. He and his family moved to Racine in 1955. Danny was known as the family’s golden child, “eccentric” and “gifted.” He was well-read, with an interest in ham radios and music. “He sort of developed into this prodigy,” his brother Jonas said. The whole family is musical. At the age of 16, Danny started playing piano and writing lyrics.
As they grew up, he and his brother often played music throughout Racine and formed the band Danny and Company. Racine was a place where every week, you could hear him in the battle of the bands. In 1974, Danny and his brother Jonas decided to leave Racine and move to California to pursue their dreams of becoming famous musicians. They slept on the floor of a friend’s apartment and would make the 3½-hour trek to Hollywood as often as they could, hoping to be discovered. One day, the brothers were almost hit by a car driven by Tony Sepe, singer Barry White’s manager. Sepe put the two up in a hotel that night and asked them to write new songs. “That’s how it all started,” Jonas said. Danny music career took off in the late 1970s, when he was signed to White’s Unlimited Gold Records label. Pearson released an album in 1978 called “Barry White Presents Mr. Danny Pearson. “What’s Your Sign, Girl?” reached No. 16 on the U.S. R&B charts and No. 108 on the Billboard 200 pop chart. Danny just embraced the life.

Ramig-Martin, Sara Deceased. Sara age 61, passed away from cancer on January 17, 2015 at the age of 61 years. Sara was born in Racine on September 28, 1953 to Alex and Jane (Nee: Sheen) Ramig. Sara worked at Lincoln Lutheran as a care giver for many years. Memorials to the Humane Society or Lincoln Lutheran Harmony Club have been suggested.
Sara is survived by her mother, Jane; her longtime partner and devoted caregiver, James “Arnold” Martin; her sister, Amanda (Tom) Ward; her nephew, Andrew (Heather) Thurmann; her niece, Emily Thurmann; James son, Dustin (Cristina) Martin and their children, Kiara, Aidan, London, Jameson, and Ares; and her grand nephews and niece, Isaiah, Dylan and Daisy.
Rango-Langlois, Valarie Deceased. Valarie, age 61, passed away peacefully from complications related to Alzheimer’s disease on January 3rd, 2015. She was born on July 5th, 1953.
She married Geoffrey Langlois on Aug 24th, 1972, then they moved to Madison. They were happily married for 42 years. Val got her Associates Degree from MATC in 1978 to begin a 25 year career as a dental hygienist in Madison where she had a special interest in children and senior patients.
Val enjoyed sewing, birdwatching, reading books, and spending time with her beloved dog, Earle. Val was an active member of the Catholic church, including teaching youth classes and being involved in the women’s ministry at her local parish. Even as Val’s disease progressed she maintained a strong bond with her grandchildren as they brought her joy in the last days of her life. Val selflessly volunteered for Alzheimer’s research studies, in the hopes others would benefit from her participation.
 
Rohner, Christine
Deceased. Christine passed away on December 12, 2008 at 55 years old. She was diagnosed in Nov, 2008 from sudden and fast growing cancer in her lungs. Christine Kay was born on March 30, 1953 in Racine, WI. She taught at Reedsburg High School for her last 32 years. She married Ray Campbell on August 16, 2002 in Baraboo, WI and lived with him in Reedsburg, WI. She loved dogs and pigs. She loved quilting, knitting, needlework, crocheting and trivia. Christina had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending her time with friends. Christine is survived by her husband Raymond Campbell of Reedsburg, WI; her many cousins including Mary Cooper, David Hasenbach, Nancy-Haddad, Jane Rohner of Racine (Case High School class of 1972); along with her beloved puppies. Her family has set up a Christine Rohner Scholarship Fund.
Roth, Holly Holly Roth lived in North Palm Beach, Florida and passed away on November 26, 2018. Holly had three children, Mandy, Zach, and Grant.  
Rowland, Bruce Deceased on June 29, 2009 at 56 years old. Bruce served his country with both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He was a correctional officer with R.C. I., for over 15 years. On Sept. 18, 1999 he was united in marriage to Kathleen. Bruce was a member of the Racine R.C. Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and line dancing, but his greatest love was building and flying radio controlled airplanes. Surviving are his wife Kathleen (Finn Bishop) Rowland, children Jason Rowland of Plainfield, IN, Tisa Hawes of Fond du Lac, Kathy Lichtenwalner of Sturtevant and Michael Bishop of Racine; 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; mother Dolores Vitacco and sister Hollie Zertuche of Harrisburg, IL; brother Jack Rowland of Salt Lake City, UT.

Sharkozy, Dan Deceased. Dan passed away on September 25, 2014 at the age of 61 years. Dan was a longtime Racine County supervisor and labor activist. He receieved awards for his efforts. He served on the County Board for 20 years, representing the 8th District. He was a former president of United Auto Workers Local 642. Dan was a former editor of a Racine labor newspaper and helped organize the city’s Laborfest. Dan was a devoted to his children and to his wife Peggy Shrakozy nee Albright (also our classmate). Dan and Peggy had four children, eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dan was proud of his Hungarian heritage and passed down traditions to his children. He often took his family camping and on road trips. Dan had a passion for women’s rights and history. Every year during Women’s History Month, Sharkozy used his county supervisor post to spotlight an accomplished Racine County woman and the impact they had on the community.

Smithback, Eric

Deceased. Eric passed away peacefully at home of pancreatic cancer on February 10, 2019. He will be deeply missed. He married Martha and had children: Philip and Sara. He lived in Chicago with his family. Eric loved and enjoyed nature and was an avid outdoorsman . He was an adventurer and was a world traveler who reveled in exploring different cultures, foods, wines and who was always up for an unexpected detour. His humor, which was often ironic, sometimes sardonic and always uniquely Eric.

 
Spranger, Dale Deceased. Dale passed away on May 17, 2018. He was born on November 11, 1953, son of Dale and Jean (nee: Scheller) Spranger.Dale was married to his love LeeAnne Kading. He was employed at Modine Manufacturing for 25 years and an avid Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Horlick Rebels fan. He cherished his wife, children and grandchildren.

Thieme, Bruce Deceased. Bruce Richard Thieme, 49, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2002, following a traffic accident in Richmond, Ill that also claimed his wife's life. He spent his early life in Racine and had resided in Burlington since 1970. On May 22, 1976, at Cross Lutheran Church in Burlington, he was united in marriage to Lynn Marie Miller. He was employed by St. Gobain in Burlington. He was a former member of Cross Lutheran Church in Burlington. He was very active in softball and bowling. He was a member of Odd Couples Bowling League with his wife and recently bowled his second official "300" game. Do you have any most recent photos of Bruce? Chuck was born December 5, 1953 in Alamo, Tennessee to Flora Conley and JW Barron; S Lee Conley, 66, lovingly known as “Chuck, Charlie, Chuckles and Papa Chunk” was called home unexpectedly on September 10, 2020. Chuck lived life on his own terms. Having received many degrees and working for the Arizona Highway Patrol, Racine County Police Department; he was also an EMT and Phlebotomist. On May 3, 1975, Chuck married his love MaryEllen Peterson to which a daughter was born. Chuck will be remembered most for his larger than life personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Chuck is survived by his mother Flora Robinson, daughter Courtney Mendoza (Abe); 3 grandchildren (Brisa, AJ, David), 2 great grandchildren (Eric Jr, Leona), sister Susonia Meadows (Curtis), 2 brothers Fred Turner (Helen), Michael Turner (Daisy); a host of nieces/nephews and extended family. Deceased. Rita passed away from tongue and lymph node cancer on April 6, 2015 at the age of 62 years. Rita worked at Samsung. She lived in Bastrop, Texas. Rita was passionate about life and her family.

Chris passed away at home in Sturtevant on February 27, 2007 at 54 years old after a long illness with hyperthyroidism. Chris was born in Racine on August 17, 1953 to Ralph and June (nee, Sondergaard) Voetberg.

Voetberg - Henderson, Sue Deceased. Sue, one of our famous classmate twins was the twin of Chris Voetberg. Sue passed away on May 5, 2014 at 60 years old Froedtert Memorial Hospital from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Sue was born in Racine on August 17, 1953 to Ralph and June (nee, Sondergaard) Voetberg. Sue was an avid Badger and Packer fan. Sue loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending holidays with friends and family, especially Christmas. Sue is survived by her children, Shawn (Wally) Scanlon, Stacy (Jerome) Cannon and Patrick (Alicia) Meshenky; grandchildren, Morgan Scanlon, Ana Cannon, Alex Cannon, Makenzie Scanlon, Wesley Meshenky, Nanea Meshenky and Waysen Meshenky; her father, Ralph Voetberg; sister, Cory Rosen; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Lopez-Staton, Emily Rosen and George Rosen; and Aunt Nettie Jenkins. Weisensel, Kenneth

Deceased. Ken passed away at 59 years old on November 25, 2012 due to heart failure. On November 9, 1974 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Cathryn Ann Weisensel. Ken was employed as a Wire EDM Operator at Wire Specialist in Brookfield. Ken was preceded in death by his adored infant daughter, Karalina Katinka Weisensel. Among his interests, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting with family and toasting life with a cold beverage – especially a Margarita. Above all, Ken was all about family and was extremely proud of being “Boppa” (Grandpa).

Winter, Thomas Deceased. Tom, 62, passed away on August 17, 2015. He was born in Evanston, IL on March 6, 1953, the son of John and Barbara (nee: Armstrong) Winter. After graduating from Case High School he served his nation with the US Air Force during the Viet Nam War. Tom was a carpenter by trade, working many years for F&F Builders and later, self-employed. He enjoyed taking on many challenges of building and repair, including plumbing and electrical. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Winter of Racine; his children, Thomas L. Winter of Ellensburg, WA., Kristen Winter of Oroville, WA; his father, John Winter of Mount Pleasant and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Geraldine Langenfeld. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara and his grandparents, George (Mary) Winter and Herb and Margaret Armstrong. A private service and interment was held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery

Zanis, Michael Deceased. Michael passed away on September 28, 2007 at 55 years old. Michael had been employed by Western Publishing Co. for over 14 years. He was a former member of the Instinctive Bowman. Michael loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Zuniga, Diana Deceased. Diana passed away unexpectedly at her Racine home on May 2, 2016 at 62 years. She was born in Racine, October 19, 1953, the 3rd of eight children of the late Jesus and Margaret (Nee: Wensing) Zuniga. Diana attended Gateway Technical College and graduated from Concordia University with a B.S. in Nursing. She was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital for 35 years and was looking forward to her retirement i a couple of years. She was passionate about caring for her patients. Diana enjoyed fishing, traveling, and scrapbooking. Surviving are her son, Dennis of Seattle, WA; her siblings, Jesse (Christine) Zuniga, Darlene Lucas, Gregory (Kelley) Zuniga, Deborah Zuniga, David Zuniga, Doreen Zuniga; niece and nephew, Devin and Justin Sykes of Racine; other nieces, nephews out of state; and many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis.
