Karen and I have been since 1980. We have three married children and three grandchildren (plus another on the way!) I retired in October 2020 after working in the field of aviation meteorology for 42 years. I received a B.S. in Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, worked for a couple of years at weather forecast firms in Madison and Green Bay, then was hired by American Airlines to work in their Weather Services Department at Chicago’s O’Hare airport. I was transferred to AA’s headquarters in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in 1981. I worked at AA for 25 years, the last half as Manager of Weather Services. I subsequently spent several years as Senior Manager of Meteorology at Southwest Airlines in Dallas. Between those two jobs, I worked for Weathernews Americas in Norman, OK, for five years and for the next eight years in Washington, D.C., for Harris Corporation, with the positions of both involving aviation meteorology. The DC/northern Virginia area was a great place to live, probably the prettiest scenery we’d seen, a lot of historical sites to visit and enough free museums to keep us busy.
The job with Southwest Airlines brought us back to North Texas where we have family and a lot of friends.

Rango-Langlois, Valarie Deceased. Valarie, age 61, passed away peacefully from complications related to Alzheimer’s disease on January 3rd, 2015. She was born on July 5th, 1953.
She married Geoffrey Langlois on Aug 24th, 1972, then they moved to Madison. They were happily married for 42 years. Val got her Associates Degree from MATC in 1978 to begin a 25 year career as a dental hygienist in Madison where she had a special interest in children and senior patients.
Val enjoyed sewing, birdwatching, reading books, and spending time with her beloved dog, Earle. Val was an active member of the Catholic church, including teaching youth classes and being involved in the women’s ministry at her local parish. Even as Val’s disease progressed she maintained a strong bond with her grandchildren as they brought her joy in the last days of her life. Val selflessly volunteered for Alzheimer’s research studies, in the hopes others would benefit from her participation.

Rasmussen. Bruce D.

I took this photo of Bruce on August 21, 2021 at the annual class reunion in Franksville Park. He passed away suddenly 3 days later on August 24, 2021.
Deceased. Bruce Daniel Rasmussen passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack at home on August 24, 2021 at the age of 67 in the town of Bartlett, Illinois. Even though Bruce had cancer, he seemed to be doing better. He had just attended his class reunion ever just 3 days before his death. It was his first reunion he ever attended and he enjoyed it very much. Bruce was born to his parents, Daniel and Lois, on November 11, 1953 and was raised in Racine, Wisconsin. Bruce then went on to complete his degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which enhanced his love of literature and reading, eventually leading to writing a book himself. He found the love of his life, Julia Rasmussen, who he asked to dance with at a wedding where they laid eyes upon one another for the first time. Bruce found passion and talent in the sales industry working across the country for multiple companies. Throughout his life, he found peace casting a lure and waiting patiently for a fish to bite at the family’s common vacation spot in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. Bruce had an uncanny ability to know the uncommonly known, excelling in trivia, as well as providing witty comments to anyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his upbeat, fun and loving personality. Bruce is survived by his wife, Julia Rasmussen of Bartlett and his son, Lucas Rasmussen of Chicago.
